Earlier today, I was celebrating the release of my new book Grounded in Australia and New Zealand published with this gorgeous cover image of West Kennet Long Barrow in Wiltshire, England. Stepping into that ancient place some months back, I had been reminded how these magnificent monuments of the past are made in landscapes that already have a natural wonder and beauty. Those first farmers in Britain built this sanctuary to their dearly departed on a chalk ridge that overlooked a gentle, green valley. When they gathered there over 5000 years ago, they made their mark on a place from which they could gaze on the delights of the lands that had become their home.
